Jack Lippman

jackAfter graduating from UCLA, and on my way to law school, I found myself in a summer job at the Elizabeth Rose Agency. I quickly realized that law school was not for me and bought the company from Elizabeth and Rose (the initial founders) after working there for 6 months. We remained fast friends as the years went by. I was committed to maintaining the high level standards that the company was originally founded upon. After many years in Santa Monica, I moved our office to a building on Sunset Blvd, which I later found out used to belong to Frank Sinatra. With the Hollywood vibe running through our offices, I decided to open a boutique talent agency called JLA Talent, which has been thriving for over 8 years. I take great pride in being an LA native, someone who is deeply committed to my family and friends, especially my wife Darcy DeMoss, international photographer, and to my dogs!

Julie Swales

julieHello there! My name is Julie Swales and I am the director of the child care division of the Elizabeth Rose Agency, which I started 22 years ago, and partner in our new San Francisco office. Before working at Elizabeth Rose, I worked as a nanny in the Los Angeles area and was heavily involved in the Big Sister program in Southeast LA. After relocating here from London, my sister and I founded the Y.E.S. Foundation, working directly with the L.A.P.D. Jeopardy group, a program for at-risk children and teens. Simply said, I love kids. I believe this love, together with my BA in Psychology and MA in Applied Psychology, supports me in managing the sometimes tricky dynamics of the child care industry. What is important to me: First, listening. How can I help if I don't hear you? Also, working with fair and respectful clients, representing child care professionals who love children, and providing a sounding board for both nannies and families when the "honeymoon" period between them wanes. These things, plus a touch of whimsical magic, are what I believe create and maintain wonderful nanny/family connections with longevity as the primary intention.

Sarah Steel

sarahI come to this job with a love for children that has spanned a life time. After graduating with the National Association of Maternity and Child Welfare in England in 1984 I worked as a nanny and baby nurse in England, Australia, Europe, and the United States. I am also a qualified Montessori Teacher and studied to become a therapist at JFK University and have a MA in Transpersonal Psychology. My journey with children then drew me towards the complexities of getting our babies and children to sleep and I became a Sleep Consultant working with families in the Bay Area. Today my husband and I are the proud parents of two daughters 8 & 5 years of age. I am now excited to be partnering with my sister in opening the Elizabeth Rose Agency San Francisco. We are now blending her 22 years of experience in the nanny placement industry in Los Angeles with my rich and varied experience in the field.

Amy Castellana

amyHi! I'm Amy Castellana. I've been part of the nanny division of the Elizabeth Rose Agency for twelve years. I have a BA in Literature, and completed a number of early childhood education courses while getting my degree. I was previously a nanny for ten years, working for a variety of different parents, from everyday mom and dads to high-profile celebrities. I grew up in Iowa, which I believe gave me a strong Midwestern work ethic (and a desire to move someplace warmer!). Because of my history as a nanny and my experience at the agency, I understand the needs of both nannies and families and will do my best to help you find the perfect match. What is important to me: Matchmaking at the speed of light! When a family calls me, I do my best to email them a good selection of candidates within an hour, and to set up interviews at their convenience, frequently even that same day. I want families to know that they can count on me to thoroughly hear their needs and respond to them as quickly as possible. Also, I want our devoted nannies to know that I am here to support them in their search for their ideal job. A nanny recently told me that she thought I would "fight to the death" for her—what a recommendation!

Carrie Bell-Hoerth

carrie bHi! My name is Carrie. I grew up in Maine, attended Haverford College in Philadelphia where I received a BA in English Literature, and I recently moved to the West Coast in search of new adventures! I'm really enjoying all that my new home has to offer in terms of great food, music, and art (and the fact that you can go to the beach in December!). In my spare time, I play the saxophone and cook; I also love reading and writing, and exploring bookstores. I've always enjoyed working with children, and spent time working as a nanny after college. In my role at the agency, I'll be helping with day-to-day operations in the nanny division, as well as managing the Elizabeth Rose Facebook and Twitter accounts. I'm so excited to be a part of the team, and I look forward to helping you!

Julie Lutman

julie lutmanHello, my name is Julie. I grew up in Portland, Oregon and moved to San Francisco in the fall of 2015. When I was quite young I started helping my father with his business. I believe this taught me about work ethic and provided me with great experience and confidence when managing an office. I went on to become an administrator and then executive assistant at my fathers company. During my college years, I worked as a snowboard instructor and swimming coach for children. I love children :) After working in the corporate environment for several years, I am now excited to join the Elizabeth Rose Agency team in the Northern California office. In my spare time, you will find me outdoors as much as possible or in class, where i am studying business. I enjoy riding my motorcycle in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.

Hillary Short

hillary shortHello, my name is Hillary Short and I am the Elizabeth Rose Agency’s New York and Connecticut agent. My 35 years of experience working in homes in London, New York, Connecticut and Los Angeles has taught me to understand the important relationship between staff and employer. I started off my career in homes after qualifying as a NNEB nanny, and have through the years been a Personal Assistant, Household Manager and a Personal Chef. I have a BA in English from UCLA, am a certified Health Coach and a cookbook author - A Fresh Start: Family Friendly Healthy Recipes. My hobbies outside of work are hiking, photography, movies and knitting. My door is always open for a cup of tea and a chat.

Stephanie Aguilar

stephHello, my name is Stephanie. As an LA native, I definitely understand what it takes to accommodate the pace of this city. Having had over 5 years experience working as a preschool teacher/camp counselor for the community services program in my hometown, I understand the importance of creating a harmonious relationship with parents, their children, and their employees. Outside of my background working with kids, I obtained a double major in French and Theatre from the University of La Verne. I spend my time outside the office collaborating on artistic projects in LA, ranging from stage design, writing, lighting design, dramaturgical work, performance, and directing. I consider myself a Jill-of-all-trades and a very lucky lady working in the city of lights!
